The Right Person Helps you Love Yourself More

One question: “Do they bring out the best in you?” Eckhart Tolle says relationships make you conscious, not happy or even fulfilled. We can learn so much about ourselves by who we bring into our life. Or more specifically, how we feel when we are with those we bring into our lives. Do we feel safe? Do we feel seen? Do we feel valued? Do we feel at peace? It can be tricky business determining what is a reflection of our own insecurities vs. another’s personal challenges with self-love and self-belonging.

The point is that we grow by bringing people into our lives who see our unique gifts to the world and show up for us to help us shine. They can be our catalyst, our fertilizer. They walk side-by-side with us, happy to see us shine without noticing if that illuminates themselves in the process. At times, perhaps they love us more than we love ourselves – reminding us of our sacred vows-to-self. “From this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death [me] do part.”

So, we must do our best to follow the attractions of inspiration where we are seen and loved for exactly who we are today. This takes great courage as aloneness and separateness are powerful forces driving us to connect, now. “It will be good enough,” they tell us. We just need to close our eyes and we will forget that we need to FLY. We will forget that, like Michelangelo’s David, we are already perfect, just shrouded with the pain and misfortunes that like the Carrara marble that must be carefully and lovingly stripped away. An attraction of inspiration will lead us to someone who stands for us when we cannot. “Baby, when you gonna make up your mind to love you as much as I do?”

I wish you peace and happiness in the love of self and the discovery of your gifts to the world.
